Yesterday I wore jeans. This was probably the first time in seven months that I dared to wear REAL jeans, with a fly and a button and everything. None of that stretchy pregnant waistband mumbo jumbo. It felt good, but I have to admit that I liked wearing leggings and jersey dresses during my pregnancy. The ease is still a comfort, and I’m just lucky that this look is “in” right now. However, I’m ready to get out of my style rut and don some new clothes.
I’m looking for things that are cute but functional. No reason I can’t be a stylish mommy. But it does require some effort. For instance I have to be aware of the neckline of most garments because it’s easier to nurse when you can just yank that shirt down or unbutton it enough to yank out a breast. I have to beware of heels because, let’s face it, walking with a baby is challenging enough in flats.
