You’re Summer Finn. Your favorite Beatle is Ringo Starr and you named your cat Bruce after Springsteen. You just got a job working as an assistant at a greeting card company. One night you go out for drinks and karaoke. One of your co-workers — Tom, the guy who listens to The Smiths — has the hots for you. You tell him you don’t believe in love. In fact, the only thing you’ve ever loved was your long dark hair. But, what’s the hurry, right? Might as well have fun. So you get involved. You go on dates to IKEA. You explore downtown L.A. together. But … he wants a commitment from you, so you’re pretty sure you’re going to have to break his heart. At least you’ll look cute doing it, with your light cotton dresses and classic aesthetic, not to mention that 1960s haircut Tom loves (or hates?) so much.
And now for the obligatory dance number … this movie is highly recommended, by the way. I watched it when I was sick earlier this month, and it was definitely some good medicine.
