I recently discovered that ice cream is an excellent bribing tool for toddlers.
It’s pretty much guaranteed to stop a tantrum in 0.2 seconds. Crying stops, tears are wiped away, snot is sniffled up. “Ice cream?”
Toddler cannot believe her good luck.
The promise of ice cream has the power to energize weary feet, to turn frowns upside down, to give hope to boring-for-her errands.
The promise of that singularly decadent, creamy, sweet, gooey substance.
It stands to reason, really. I have been known to do crazy things for the vague promise of ice cream, and I’m an adult.
Ice cream is a much better carrot than an actual carrot, that’s for sure.
Here are 10 must-try ice cream/froyo recipes I’ve rounded up, for those of you lucky ducks who have an ice cream maker. I cannot own one. It’s far too dangerous. (Ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Don’t mind if I do.) Some of these recipes do not require an ice cream maker. Consider this your fair warning. I cannot be held responsible for a widespread uptick in your ice cream consumption!
- Peanut butter banana frozen yogurt
- Salted caramel ice cream
- Chocolate thin mint ice cream
- Roasted almond coconut ice cream
- Butterscotch ice cream
- Marble fudge ice cream
- Salted sweet corn ice cream
- Horchata ice cream
- Thai tea ice cream (!!!)
- Black plum ice cream (!!!)
I could go on and on. Or you could just go ahead and follow my Pinterest board of ice cream, because you know it’s gonna be good.
