My birthday list this year has a theme: projects I’d like to accomplish as part of My One Word goal of the year (change my skills). I’ve mentioned several times on this blog about how I’m not too crafty. About how others are much better than me at creating things with glue sticks and kraft paper.
Well, I’m trying to change that.
See, I do recall a time when I was pretty crafty. Sure, I might’ve been in Girl Scouts at the time, but there’s no reason I can’t resurrect those skills. I’d like to cultivate some mother-daughter craft moments as Alexa grows up, so I need to hone these skills ASAP, lest the student outdo the teacher. Ha!
I’m trying not to be too ambitious. I want to accomplish these things, after all, so notice “learn to knit” isn’t on the list, even though I would like to learn to knit someday. Most of these projects I’ve wanted to do for some time now. Some of them are seasonal. I left a few wildcards for any new ideas I get over the course of the year.
Hopefully by the time my next birthday rolls around I’ll be a little more at home with a can of paint, a needle with thread, and a glue gun.
