33 Projects: 365 Days Book

Untitled

A few months after Alexa was born, I decided to take one photo a day for a year. Most people who decide to take part in such craziness start on Jan. 1 so they can have a nice, clean year, but not me. No, I thought it would be brilliant to start documenting every single day beginning in March 2011.

Interestingly enough, it wrapped up nicely around the time we moved into our new apartment in 2012, so there was a little bit of denouement, after all, a kind-of, “Aha! We’re packing up and starting a new chapter of our lives … stay tuned for the new and improved 365 Days project.”

Only I didn’t do another one right afterward. I joined Instagram instead.

I set out to create this book on Blurb last summer. It took some time and a little bit of patience. A stop-and-go type of project. A few times I would be typing in dates only to realize I skipped a day six pages back, and I had to go back and fix my error. At one point I stopped working on the project for so long Blurb told me it would delete my brilliant efforts if I didn’t get my ass in gear.

Thanks for the gentle prod, Blurb. Even though you are no InDesign, I’m glad we can be honest with each other. Nothing but love for you, baby. In fact, maybe I’ll make another book with my Instagram photos from 2012. And one next year after I’m done with A Week in the Life.
