I’m enthralled with top 100 lists. Often I think, “I’m going to read/watch/eat/do/experience everything on this list!” Then, before I know it, a month has gone by and I’ve forgotten about my vow because — you guessed it — I’m too busy making a new vow after seeing another top 100 list.
It’s about time I follow through. That’s why I vow that I’m going to watch every movie on Yahoo’s 100 Movies to See Before You Die list. I’ve rejoined Netflix to accomplish this task, and I’m determined to find 100 inspirational moments, one in each film. Today, the first two:
These bad-ass frames worn by the protagonist’s wife (Anouk Aimée). She’s also the only woman in the movie who isn’t wearing tons of makeup. She’s real, and impeccably stylish! Too bad her husband’s a whore.
Antoine skips school and rides in the anti-gravity spinning ride at the carnival. You know the one: where you stand against the wall, and as the machine gains speed, you are able to climb the wall and turn yourself upside down. The camerawork is fantastic. You feel like you’re right there with Antoine.
