Doing a postcard giveaway was so much fun because I got to read all about your favorite family photos, which inspired me to dig through a box of photos to share with you this funny little snapshot of myself, one of my faves. Something that stuck out to me as I read your comments was that the best memories are the unexpected moments. This is the perfect example. I’m sure no one thought this day in August 1981 was going to end up being posted on a blog in 2010, or that it was a special day at all for that matter. All my parents thought was, “Look at our strange daughter putting her puppy in her toy shopping cart!”
I’m sure they weren’t concerned about getting the crop just so or that the car was in the background — they just captured the moment, and I’m glad they did. I love the way my hair curls up at the ends, and how I’m practicing to become an expert shopper at the age of two-and-a-half. Most of all, I love this memory of Sandy, my childhood dog. She was a good dog! We grew up together.
