Our neighbors won the holiday lawn-decorating contest again this year.
They win every year.
You know how Clark Griswald was obsessed with the lights on top of his house in “Christmas Vacation”?
Imagine that, but with lawn ornaments instead. They cover every square inch of yard, including some of our yard (which of course we were happy to oblige because it makes us look more festive by proximity).
The decor is so elaborate it includes a mechanical Santa who waves and nods at passersby from the hours of 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Then he takes off, leaving a sign saying he’s off sleighing.
Meanwhile we’re like Margo and Todd in the master bedroom with all the residual light coming in.
My point is that some people drain the electric grid at Christmas and some people create minimalist free printables. God bless us, everyone!
