Art Show Prep

For the past week, I’ve been working to get my pieces ready for my first group art show, back in my hometown of Wichita, Kan. Unfortunately, what you see above will not actually make it to the exhibit due to high shipping costs that I naively didn’t foresee until seeking the help of professionals. Who knew shipping very large pieces of glass would break the bank, and possibly the glass, too? Sadly, it didn’t initially cross my mind.

I quickly rallied to come up with Plan B: some smaller framed pieces and larger matted ones. It’s exciting to think about my work on exhibit even though I won’t be there to see it myself. My talented friend Ian (Etsy store) is putting this gig together, so I’m sure it’ll be bad-ass.

Save the date for opening night if you happen to be in the area: Shimmering Points, 7-11 p.m. June 19 at Commerce Gallery.
