This October marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.
The kids have decided they no longer care to dress in cute costumes. The eldest wants to go as a corpse bride, and the kindergartner wants to be a scary clown.
Of course, I’ve been putting off ordering these costumes thinking they will change their minds and decide to be matchy-matchy again like last year (they were adorable witches). But alas! There will be no more matching princesses (like in 2019) or even miniature Batgirls (like in 2018).
They are unwavering in their macabre choices.
And even though I’m a little sad, I’m also a little excited. Because I love Halloween.
And I especially love the macabre vibe when it comes to decoration. Think dark vintage paintings and skeleton sketches.
