Today I’m going to share a Mother’s Day free printable card with you and try not to tear up because this holiday is always so bittersweet for me.
You may know that my mom died of lung cancer more than a decade ago, but what you may not know is that Mother’s Day was the last day she was really lucid.
We spent the next week keeping her comfortable in her final days.
Just typing these words fills me with incredible sadness that I’ll never be able to shake.
I mean, I’m not supposed to. She’s my mom, and a mother’s love echoes in the hearts of her children forever.
Process: Mother’s Day Free Printable Card
I created this card with my mom in mind. If she were alive, I thought, what would I want to say?
First, I’d say sorry I was such a jerk when I was a teenager. All those times I yelled, “You’re ruining my liiiiiife!” It was just as dramatic as it sounds. Haha.
Second, I would tell her that I get it now. All the love, all the heartache of being a mom. I finally understand her love for me because I feel it for my own children.
So, thinking about “save the drama for your mama,” I turned it around and said “Thanks for putting up with all my drama, Mama!”
