Hey guys — looks like we’re living in the future now with this free printable 2020 calendar.
I opened up my file to update my yearly freebie, and I couldn’t help but reflect on the past 20 years and where they’ve gone.
I know, I know, we do this every year. Year-end top 9 on Insta, the year-in-review lists, etc., but I’m talking more about the heavy stuff.
The sad times, the scary times, the “WTF” moments.
Maybe it’s because I’m wrapping up a year that I can only describe as a bottomless pit (mainly because I haven’t figured out how to climb out of it yet), but I think it’s fair to acknowledge that things aren’t always exactly what we want them to be.
A moment of silence and a tip of a wine glass to the loved ones lost, to the plans that have been put on hold, to the business that suffered under the overwhelming weight of new motherhood, to the fact that I can’t seem to find a decent pair of jeans.
2020 is here, and with a new calendar year I always hope for new beginnings. If nothing else, a fresh mind-set and maybe a new approach to solving old problems.
Seriously, where can I find a decent pair of jeans? Not too low of a rise, not too high of a rise? The Goldilocks of jeans, if you will.
This is the sixth year I’ve shared my minimal calendar with you, changing it up ever so slightly with the treatment of the “months.”
In 2015, I used oversized typography. In 2016, the months were hand-drawn in heavy marker. For 2017 I drew the months in bounce lettering. In 2018 I used freeform penmanship.
Last year I drew blocky, beatnik-inspired letters in Procreate using my Adonit pen.
This year I used a Procreate dry marker brush to create low-midline lettering with a retro vibe with my Apple Pencil, editing them in Photoshop 2020.
